We started out discussion regarding LGTBQ+ and the church.  We are going through a video series by Preston Sprinkle as well as reviewing the following books.

​Gay Girl, Good God by Jackie Hill Perry - this is an outstanding book by a former lesbian that now identifies as straight.  Her journey and her insights are amazing - especially for someone of her age.  Her writing style is extremely engaging and very straightforward.  Everyone I know of all ages that have read this book have found it to be very remarkable and inspirational.

Understanding Gender Dysphoria by Mark A. Yarhouse - Mark is a Christ following psychologist that has been treating gender dysphoria for over 15 years.  Although a very clinical read, it will give you great insight into the phenomenon of gender dysphoria, provide anecdotal case studies of gender dysphoric Christians and the struggles they face along with suggestions of how the church can/should respond to these individuals.

Is God anti-gay - by Sam Allberry - This is a great book - concise and very understanding.  Sam is a SSA man who studied theology at Wycliffe Hall at Oxford and is an ordained minister in the church of England.  If you only have time to read one of these books, read this one!

What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality by Kevin DeYoung - This gives more in-depth study than the Allberry book so if you have the time it's also worth the read.
